Writing this paper fundamentally shifted how I see the world. It made me realize that storytelling isn't just a reflective act or a passive form of expression—it's an active, creative strategy for survival and world-building. I am passionate about narrative because the stories we choose to tell (and how we choose to tell them) dictate what kind of futures we allow ourselves to imagine and build. Exploring critical fabulation showed me that radical care and mutual aid are, at their core, acts of collective imagination: we have to be able to tell the story of a better world before we can bring it into reality.
